The French first observed the game, which consisted of the stick named as “bishop’s crozier” having net to stop the ball a reference was given by the French settlers as “le jeu de la cosse”.
In the early days there were no hard and fast rules to play this game, the people playing this game ranged between 100 to1000 in number.

First draft was conducted in 2001 after assigning three players to each team,a golie named as Sal LoCascio took the honour of being first player selected by the bridgeport.
